Microsoft FrontPage |
To install the beta of FrontPage 1.1, please follow the following steps:
Step 1 -- Read this:
FrontPage is a Client/Server application for creating
World Wide Web and intranet sites. In order to post a site to
the World Wide Web or an intranet, you will want to post it on
a server. To make this easy for you, FrontPage offers:
- A Personal Web Server for you to use when authoring
a web on your own PC. You can use the Personal Web Server to
stage your web sites as you are developing them or to host your
web site on a peer basis. FrontPage 1.1 will automatically install
the Personal Web Server during a Typical installation, and, when
present on your system, will automatically start when you select
any command that requires it from the FrontPage Explorer or FrontPage
editor.
- A set free down-loadable Server Extensions for the most popular World
Wide Web Servers. Much of the easy to use functionality in FrontPage
is delivered through additions to the web server through these
extensions.
Step 2 -- Read the Frequently Asked Questions document
for more information on how to utilize all of the capabilities of FrontPage.
Step 3 -- Install Microsoft FrontPage 1.1 Beta 1 and find out how easy it is to create and manage your own web site.
